Size lens set
Product description
Optical Diagnostics used to sell a set of size lenses for aniseikonia management with the following specifications:
- Set of 7 lenses
- Optical magnification 1-7%
- Fitted into standard trial lens rings
As of 2011, we discontinued this product, since it did not really fit well in the main activities of the company (i.e. software development and consulting work). Instead, when purchasing the complete version of the Aniseikonia Inspector software, you will receive the design specifications of the Optical Diagnostics' size lens set for free. They will be present as an example in the default database of the software, so they can be easily adjusted to fit the base curves of your optical shop.
Why use size lenses?
Size lenses are lenses without refractive power, but with an optical
magnification. They are often used to evaluate the effect of an
aniseikonic correction on a patient's binocular vision comfort. A
size lens check is therefore recommended before designing and ordering
iseikonic lenses for a patient. Especially with retinally-induced
aniseikonia, where the aniseikonia is not constant over the retina, size
lenses are extremely useful to evaluate if and what aniseikonia
correction helps the patient's binocular vision comfort.
Size lenses could also be used to induce aniseikonia. This allows a 'normal' to experience the binocular discomfort of an aniseikonia patient.
